Binal Patel’s years in Milan and Florence shaped her eye for the elegance of European ateliers, as well as her understanding of how vintage silhouettes could be reworked for the contemporary woman. She wanted that same sensibility to define The RealB’s 1,000-square-foot Delhi flagship: a space that could feel timeless without becoming nostalgic.

Drawing from her story, we expanded on the idea of a modiste’s atelier, bringing together European influences with contemporary design features. Vaulted arches, distressed walls and parquet flooring give the space a lived-in character, while sleek stainless-steel elements sit in contrast, allowing the old and new to define the character of the store.

We had the pleasure of attending @archdigestindia⁠

We had the pleasure of attending @archdigestindia⁠’s celebration of the first edition of the magazine under the keen editorial eye of @ghadiok, hosted at the residence of Padma Bhushan awardee Rajeev Sethi, whose work and contribution to Indian arts and crafts have influenced generations.

It was especially interesting to experience his incredible personal collection and spend the evening in conversation with architects, designers, artists, and other members of the creative community.

Thank you, @archdigestindia⁠, for bringing everyone together and honoring the winners of the AD New Wave Award in this addition of the magazine.

For fashion designer @thebinalpatel , jacquard and silk come together with an ease that keeps even the most crafted pieces from feeling overdone. She wanted that same sense of effortlessness to define @therealblife 1,000-square-foot Delhi flagship store: a space that could feel timeless without becoming nostalgic. Patel’s years in Milan and Florence had shaped her eye for the elegance of European ateliers, as well as her understanding of how vintage silhouettes could be reworked for the contemporary woman. For the store, she turned to @pranvijain.melange and @edges_in_circle of @themelangestudio , who brought these influences into a contemporary setting. “Drawing from Binal’s story, the design scheme expands on the idea of a modiste’s atelier, bringing together European influences with contemporary design features,” the designers told @archdigestindia . Instead of aiming for visual balance, they embraced contrast, allowing the unexpected to keep the space intriguing.

We started P-TAL with the intention of creating a

We started P-TAL with the intention of creating a store where the making was as important as the product itself.

That thinking shaped everything from the architecture inspired by traditional vessels and installations made by the artisans, to the way people move, pause and interact with the space. Even an entire floor was dedicated to community rather than retail.

The outcome is a flagship that doesn’t just house P-TAL’s products. It gives the craft, the people and the philosophy behind them a physical space of their own.

On the first floor of the P-TAL flagship store in

On the first floor of the P-TAL flagship store in Hyderabad, we started looking at the humble bartan differently. Instead of displaying utensils individually, we repeated them across a brass framework that follows the curve of the room, creating the backdrop for the community space. It’s another example of how an everyday object can completely change character simply through scale, repetition, and context.
